Our Lime Putty is produced EXCLUSIVELY for Historic Masonry Restoration, traditional decorative plaster and green building. It is produced from 5 to 8 in. lumps of high purity calcitic limestone (CaO >98% MgO <0.10%) fired at low temperatures (<1000° C.) in indirect flame, natural draft, traditional design vertical kilns fueled by wood waste from an adjoining lumber mill.
This meticulous process results in a dense, fatty slaked lime ideal for historic masonry restoration work, stucco, plaster, lime wash and fine finishes such as Fresco, Tonachino, Marmorino and Venetian Plaster.
MADE IN ITALY
The Calcium oxide lumps are immediately slaked and aged in open-air pits for a minimum of one year, fully respecting traditional production methods.
